The impact of supermassive black holes on the circumgalactic medium of high-redshift haloes

The figure above is adapted from The growth of the gargantuan black holes powering high-redshift quasars and their impact on the formation of early galaxies and protoclusters (Bennett J. S., Sijacki D., Costa T., Laporte N., Witten C., 2024, MNRAS, 527, 1033).

My PhD focuses on the growth and impact of supermassive black holes at high-redshift in cosmological simulations, with a particular interest in making direct predictions and comparisons with observations. I am conducting this work at the Institute of Astronomy and Kavli Institute in Cambridge, supervised by Debora Sijacki and Tiago Costa.
