Subject: first night, INT DEC run

Dear all,

It was clear during the night but the seeing was rather poor in general,
1.3-2.2 but mainly worse than 1.7 in the 2nd half. The Moon was 70% full,
coming up in the 2nd half of the night.

We had two overriding programmes, the M31 microlensing (1hr) and near
Earth object (15min) in the 1st and 2nd half of the night, respectively.
The former will continue to override throught out the run.

The observing log was sent to you in the preceeding email,
which can also be found at
http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/~xmmssc/xidops/xidobs/obsplan/20021224/index.html

Despite the poor seeing and Moonlight, we've got some data---thanks to the
long, long night.

cheers
Weimin & Natalie
