http://www.ast.cam.ac.uk/~phewett/ you should see a directory Vivienne_Spectra/ which takes you to a data disk so that in future we can move large files about. At the moment there is a modestly sized tar file with 1580 spectra of the 2200-3000A region for SDSS DR7 spectra with an MgII absorber in the restframe wavelength interval 2740-2830A. Should provide good statistics to understand where the reconstructions are falling over as a function of absorber EW and delta_v [relative to systemic]. There is also an ascii file with the six-components for fitting mgii_6c_150814_v2.comp and the associated wavelength array wav22003000.dat Think the old component file should be OK but if something doesn't look right just say. Would mean my spectrum shape-morphing has changed, in which case I can rederive a set of components using the current implementation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ unzip the mgii_dr7_040110_170627.zip file and find a directory mgii_dr7_040110_170627/ created and also a __MACOSX/ directory which can be deleted the mgii_dr7_040110_170627/ directory contains the original four-band spectra supplied to Viv - flux, noise, mask, flux_morph in mgii_dr7_040110_170627/contfit_dr7 there are the 27507 files from Viv's continuum-fitting and 27507 companion files e.g. spSpec-51578-0296-356_info.txt with the component fitting information
