The CIRPASS IFU

The CIRPASS Integral Field Unit (IFU). This has 490 lenses in an array. Each lens feeds the light into an optical fibre which pipes the light to the spectrograph. The telescope forms an image of the sky on the lens array and we can adjust the scale of the image to suit the observations being made.
