Alternative Catalogues Group
The Alternative Catalogues group is a collection of a number of libraries from within the University of Cambridge who have their own computer systems installed as well as contributing to the University's Union Catalogue. The group was formed with the aim of sharing information and providing support for those libraries engaged in, or preparing to, export records to the Union Catalogue. This is particularly important in view of the UL's decision to change from it's present, locally developed system, to the commercial Voyager software; a change which has already begun to change the working practices of contributing libraries.

The group aims to meet occasionally to provide a forum for discussion, enabling members to raise issue of concern. Further it is hoped that these pages can be used as a centre for archiving various information of potential interest to the group.
